We went to this place based on the reviews but I think that friends and family wrote those reviews to make it seem amazing. This was terrible! Do not go! The table was sticky and the server took forever to take our order. I ordered the beef enchiladas and the beef tasted 3 days old, dry and over seasoned, def not fresh. The diet soda is from a can and for some reason tasted flat. My husbands meal was equally as bad. We will never go here again and still hopefully to find a good authentic fresh mexican place in midwest city. I think this place may be struggling and are cutting corners in food costs by freezing pre-prepped items. Monterey jacks is a million times better!

It is OK - but something bothers me I'm really not sure what makes me so reluctant about this place. The food has great mexican flavor, the presentation is pretty good, the service is very friendly, and the atmosphere is OK. The owner always comes around to make sure that everything is going well. But, something is missing whenever I eat here... I'm not sure what it is. Here is what I ate: Chips - cold and stale - they neglect the chips so badly here that I instinctively start looking for other things neglected, but I don't find anything. Salsa - good, but still think it seems a little heavy on tomato sauce or guajillo sauce. Queso - it was OK, not bad. Tortillas - they don't offer to bring any. Quesadilla Dinner w rice and beans - very good, but at first I was worried, because it wasn't toasted correctly, the beans and rice looked plain, and the guacamole looked plain... but then I tasted it, and I was shocked - the flavors of the beans and rice were spectacular, the quesadilla was scrumptious, and the guacamole tasted OK. Avocado Enchiladas with Sour Cream Sauce w Rice & Beans - this was equally good, and the presentation was very good, the flavors were embedded very nicely. There are too many other places that bring Hot & Fresh Chips with Homemade Tortillas, that also have good food.

Me and my husband have been here a couple times now and both times the food was great. The chips, salsa and queso are nothing extraordinary but hey, they're free and brought out without having to ask for them. The rest of the food however is very good. The staff and manager are very friendly. We're definitely going to continue to be repeat customers here.

Had to try their guacamole since it's in the name. I was not disappointed. With just a pinch of salt it was perfect although my wife liked it as is. A must dish in my book that is made fresh for you. Why did I give this restaurant 4 stars? Simply because of the service. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It's exactly what a restaurant (service) should be. I love this place for that. Food was good for what it is. I will try different menu items till I find what I like best. I may edit this portion of my review in the future. I will go back. This restaurant deserves it just on their customer service alone.

Tried the cheese enchiladas. So rubbery, I couldn't cut with a fork. Also tried fajitas. Low quality beef, chewy and the chicken was so salty my tongue hurts. Good salsa is about it.

This has become my go-to Mexican restaurant. It's small but they have the friendliest staff and the food is always good. I love their chicken tortilla soup and avocado enchiladas.

We've eaten at Wholly Guacamole a few times since my last review. They really work with us and go out of their way to make sure that my daughter's food is safe and that we're happy with our order. They cook veggies for my fajitas and make a potato dish on the side. It's yummy! They still have a fan in me. They keep me coming back for their chips and salsa and for the smiles on my husband's and daughter's faces and they're just so caring and customer satisfaction oriented. At Christmas, if you're looking for a place for Christmas tamales, they sell them by the dozen. You can get chicken or beef. It saved me a lot of time this last Christmas. I didn't have to make them for my husband, a Mexican who loves his tamales and tradition. I just ordered and picked them up on the same day.

I went to the wholly quacamole a few months ago, and got the combo platter, and was completely underwhelmed there was no flavor to anything, the only good thing was the taco was extremely crispy. When I complained to management about the food he pretty much said I didn't know about Mexican food, and I have to say bland translated in other cultures food is still bland. Will not go back there again because I didn't want my money back I only just wanted seasoned meat, beans, and rice.

I had the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce. As far as enchiladas go, they were solid. The cream did well in my mouth, and the rice was interesting. The refried beans were way too salty, though. The meal came with chips, salsa, and a light queso. I got my order to go, and I have enough of this stuff for 4 diners. Pretty solid stuff. Didn't get a tortilla, though I didn't ask for one. As far as service goes, it was fine. It took them some time to bag up my order, but I was in and out quick enough after I had called ahead. I'd recommend it if you're in the area and need some reasonably priced Mexican food that you can stretch into two meals.

GREAT place to eat! Owner is quite hospitable! Love the salsa, little spicy but I loved it! Great service, clean, nice atmosphere. Small local business! Come support! Will return. Thank you Landon at Fallout Sports for the recommendation!

I work at Tinker and we go here almost every Friday. The service is fast and friendly. The food is ok, nothing special, but the speed and friendliness of the service makes up for it. Would I go here for dinner? Nope, but it's perfect for lunch when you only have 45 minutes and you don't feel like going to a fast food place.

How did I not know good Mexican food was so close?? My husband and I tried Wholly Guacamole last night. It was really good. We were greeted immediately and seated. Our waitress quickly took our drink orders and we were brought chips, queso, and relish and salsa. I asked about a spicier salsa and received that with no problem. The spicier salsa did not have a lot of tomatoes in it, the way I like it. Shortly after we then received corn and flour tortillas. They were average but a good vehicle for the queso and salsa as were the chips. The waitress recommended the special which was avocado enchiladas with chicken and sour Cream sauce with a beans and rice on the side. We both ordered that along with there signature guacamole appetizer. The guacamole appetizer has the potential to be very very good but I recommend ordering with NO salt added. Ours was extremely Salty, we couldn't finish it, but we will order it again with those stipulations. The entree was excellent, the chicken had a slightly smoky flavor and was juicy the sour cream sauce was good. The rice and beans were average but good. I look forward to returning and trying other entrees.

Ill give it a 2 because I don't want to be mean. Didn't like the chips the queso or the guacamole. It was awful. I see a lot of great posts so maybe they got a new cook?

Great food with friendly, fantastic service. We had 9 of us from New Orleans on a Friday night. The service was quick & friendly and the food was fantastic! My only disappointment was the lack of margaritas, but at least they had a nice selection of Mexican beers

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
